DNC / MINDLab Symposium:
Translational Epilepsy in Denmark and Sweden

Time: Thursday 7 June 2012
Place: Palle Juul-Jensen Auditorium (DNC Auditorium)
Danish Neuroscience Center, Aarhus University Hospital, Nørrebrogade 44, 8000 Aarhus C.

This is the first conference in Denmark on translational neuroscience with an emphasis on epilepsy. The purpose of this meeting will be to gather together epileptologists and other stake holders from Denmark and Sweden to provide a unique opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and learn to collaborate to further the effort to find effective therapies for patients suffering from epilepsy. Although progress has been made in our understanding of pathogenesis of different forms of epilepsy, especially in animal models, we have a long way to go to understand and modify the human condition especially in the field of epileptogenesis.  This conference will be a first but hopefully not the last effort to jump-start the effort to translate basic neuroscience knowledge from genetic, cellular and animal modeling into a better understanding, and clinical opportunities for patients.
